Who is concerned?

Who can request a Validation of Prior Learning (VAE)?

You can request a VAE if you have a have a training project and professional or extra-curricular experience relevant to the desired degree.

To apply, you must meet the follow criteria:

• you meet the enrollment conditions of UNIGE and the faculty/research unit where you want to study;
• you have not been previously eliminated from the program (except in special cases provided by the faculty/research unit);
• you have a professional or personal experience relevant to the degree, of at least three years' proven full-time (or equivalent part-time). Periods of apprenticeship or internship are not taken into account in this calculation.

Who participates in the VAE initiative?

Several faculties and institutes offer a VAE:

• the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences (FPSE),
• the Faculty of Science,
• the Geneva School of Social Sciences (SdS),
• the University Institute of Teacher Education (IUFE),
• the Computer Science Centre (CUI).
