Quarto

Objective: Quarto is a tool for creating dynamic documents that combine text and code (Python, R, Julia) with a focus on reproducibility. Based on Markdown but capable of exporting to multiple formats (reports, articles, presentations, websites), Quarto facilitates data analysis and visualization and, ultimately, improves scientific communication. The goal of this workshop is to demonstrate Quarto’s key features and how they can be integrated into research and teaching processes.

Description: The workshop will take the form of an interactive demonstration. It will illustrate the basic principles of Quarto, including how to create a simple document that incorporates Markdown text and code, and how to export it into various formats.

Program:

• Understand the structure of a Quarto document (YAML, Markdown, code)
• Create a simple document (text, code, output)
• Run code and incorporate the results (figures, tables)
• Generate different output formats (HTML, PDF, Word)
• Overview of advanced features (presentations, websites)
