You need a clear strategy to find your first job. If you want to make the most out of it, you need to identify the different steps of this process.

Choose a path 🧭

Before anything else, you must identify what you aspire to, or at least the professional sector that matches your ambition. This first step can be disturbing given the many possibilities there are and the opacity of the labor market.
Don’t worry! We offer several tools for you to define the first leg of your professional journey! For instance, the career plan and assessment workshop will help you find the activities you feel at ease with. Having a mentor or doing informational interviews can also be useful!

Now that you have a goal, you know which skills you must polish. No matter what you do, your studies will grant you precious knowledge that the professionals will like.
The Career Center can supplement your studies with ways to gain soft skills. Our Soft Skills program will provide you with simple and concrete tools focusing on the most sought-after skills. Our mentorship program will help you and give you keys to understand the professional sector you are aiming for.
Finally, extracurricular activities such as cultural/sports activities, or taking part in an association will help you thrive and network.

You know hold all the cards and can confidently enter the labor market. You know the sector that you like and understand it pretty good. You also have polished your soft skills enough to win your interlocutors over.
During this last step, the Career Center offers interesting activities. Having a convincing resume and cover letter is the keystone of many applications: We will provide you with workshops to have a strong application. Is the picture on your resume a little outdated? We also organize photoshoots for students. Our counselors are also available to train you with mock interviews.
