Health access support

For UNIGE students

• Psychological counseling with the Student Health Service: up to 500 francs per academic year
• Specialized assessments: up to 500 francs for specialized assessments carried out by our faculties and institutes (e.g. speech therapy assessment).
• Medical expenses: we cover medical expenses in Switzerland (not covered by health insurance) up to 1000 francs per academic year.

For HES-SO Geneva students

• HES-SO Espace Santé (Geneva Health Center): we cover consultations with external healthcare professionals, made on the recommendation of the HES Health Center. Maximum coverage: the amount of your health insurance deductible.
• Specialized assessments: up to 500 francs for specialized assessments carried out by our faculties and institutes (e.g. speech therapy assessment).
• Medical expenses: we cover medical expenses in Switzerland (not covered by health insurance) up to the amount of the student's deductible.

If you are a UNIGE student

To request health support, you must:

• Meet the eligibility criteria and provide evidence of financial hardship as defined in the Financial Aid Directive (page 5).

If you are a HES-SO Geneva student

To request health support, you must:

• Meet the eligibility criteria and demonstrate financial hardship as defined in the Dispositions d'application (HES-SO Geneva) (FR),
• For consultations with external healthcare professionals: complete a health assessment at the HES-SO Espace Santé,
• For a specialized assessment at the UNIGE or with external healthcare professionals: get approval from the Specific needs department of your higher education institution.

In all cases, you must attach to the form supporting documents relevant to your situation (invoices, certificates, or reports). Depending on your situation, these documents may come from:

• Speech therapy assessment or medical expenses (UNIGE): documentation of the expenses incurred.
• Psychological assessment (UNIGE): the certificate or invoice from the Student Health Service.
• Specialized assessment: the certificate or invoice issued.
• HES-SO Geneva student: a certificate from the HES-SO Geneva Espace Santé and proof of expenses incurred.
• Video consultation: a 30 francs Télémaque video consultation invoice.
