How to apply for re-enrollment for a Bachelor/DEFLE
  1. Check the deadlines. Make sure to apply for re-enrollment on time,
  2. Go to the UNIGE Application Portal,
  3. Log in to your SWITCH edu-ID account, or create an account here if you do not have one;
  4. Follow the steps and send your application;
  5. Check your application. We will keep you informed of the progress of your application via your UNIGE Application Portal and by email. Check your account and email regularly (including your spam folder).

Important:

  • You must apply for re-enrollment for each program.
  • If you have only been admitted to one specific program, that does not allow you to change, make sure that you meet the enrollment conditions.
How much are the re-enrollment fees?

Applying for re-enrollment is free.

Exception: in the event of a debt, you must pay it first. In addition, you will be charged a CHF 50 fee (see Articles 7 and 11 of the Internal Regulations on University Fees and Charges (FR)). If this applies to you, we will notify you by email.

What is the required level of French?

You must have a good knowledge (CECR B2 level) of French to study at UNIGE.

We can ask you to retake a French exam.

UNIGE organizes the French exam. A successful exam is valid for 4 years. Then, you must pass it again, unless you have obtained a bachelor's degree in the meantime.

Important:

  • Depending on your situation, you may be exempt from taking the French exam. Check the exemption criteria.
  • To know how the French exam works and to prepare yourself, check the French exam conditions page.
